Lucille Carla Kerpics

Lucille Carla Acklin Kerpics of Mountain View, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2023. She was born May 13, 1939, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Oliver and Alice (Burgett) May. Her family moved to Trask, Missouri, in the Spring of 1956.

Carla graduated from Willow Springs High School in the spring of 1957. That summer, she met Bob Acklin at the steel bridge swimming hole, and the sparks flew! They both left Mountain View in the fall but returned and were married on September 20, 1958. To this union, five children were born Cyndy, Kyle, Beth, Darin, and Cory. Later in life, she remarried a kind and gentle man, Charlie Kerpics.

She worked many years as a pharmacy technician, with her last place being at Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Mountain View. Carla was the most amazing mother anyone could ask for. Her kids and family always came first. She taught her children to love fiercely, work hard, and appreciate nature, God’s creation. Her faith in God remained strong throughout her life.

Carla loved working outside and always grew a garden to provide for her family. She also loved tending to her beautiful flowers and riding her beloved horse, Dumas.

Carla has been referred to as an “Angel on Earth.” Her loving and sweet disposition made her care for everyone, and she loved giving and receiving hugs from everyone she loved and met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Alice May, and her husbands, Bob and Charlie.

Carla is survived by her children Cyndy McEwen (Kevin), Kyle Acklin, Beth Leeth (Chris), Darin Acklin, and Cory Acklin (Lacey); her brother, Bryan May; and 16 grandchildren, Candice, Corinne, Kylie, Kal, Ashley, Amber, Adam, Koby, Jaelon, Jansen, Jaris, Jentry, Caleb, Shelby, Jade, and Scooter; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephew, nieces, and great friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church, Mountain View, Missouri, with Bishop Ron Webb officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
