Phillip Wayne McFarlin

Phillip Wayne McFarlin, 68 years, 11 months, 29 days old, went to be with Jesus on July 25, 2024, at Mercy Hospital with family by his side.

Phillip was born July 27, 1955, in Ava, MO to Robert and Joyce (Keeton) McFarlin.

Phillip lived in Douglas County his whole life.    

On June 11, 1976, Phillip and Judy Potter were united in marriage at Girdner Church, and they were blessed with two children, Kristen and Clay.

Phillip was a hard worker, and he started hauling milk for Kraft at a young age and worked there for 17 years. Then he started working for Empire Gas and then eventually started his own business, Douglas County Propane. In retirement he was a substitute bus driver for Ava and Skyline schools. 

Phillip was a Christian and attended Sandy General Baptist Church and Star Chapel.  His hobbies were fishing, drag racing, playing cards, farming, and watching hummingbirds. He enjoyed all of his grandkids and great granddaughters and loved teasing and cutting up with them. His greatest joy was his family and his beagle, Lucy! 

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roger McFarlin, Randy McFarlin, Otis McFarlin, and sister, Arlene Goforth. 

Phillip is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Kristen McFarlin and Clay McFarlin and wife, Dawnya; four grandchildren, Kayte and Zach Taylor, Layne and Hannah McFarlin, Avery and Brianna Hendrix, and Mason Cole and Deandra Huff; two great granddaughters, Adeline and Amelia;          brothers, Robert, Clint, Richard, Ronald, Francis, Larry, and Terry McFarlin; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and numerous friends.

Funeral services for Phillip will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 10:00 A.M.  in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Whites Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Neal Crum.
