Richard “Slick” Knight, 67, of Gainesville was born July 30, 1955 in Camden, AR. He passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on March 24, 2023.
Slick spent many years as a truck driver and one of his favorite things to do was to tell stories about his time on the road and talk about his semi. After he retired he filled his time with anything to do with the outdoors, he rarely missed a hunting season and set up a “turkey camp” rain or shine, every year with his sons. (Although for those of us who know, it was usually more rain than shine, but it never stopped them.) He also enjoyed fishing and would often times take his grandkids.
He is survived by three sons, their wives, and eight grandchildren: Justin and Kate Knight, their children Amber and Thomas, Joe and Sarah Knight, their sons Kiro and Jonah, Adam and Ashley Fullilove their children Ashton, Ellie May, Dixie Lee, and Emmy Lou; as well as his siblings Jimmy Knight, Marion Knight, and Curt Knight.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henrietta and James Oliver Knight.; and siblings Johnny Knight, Beulah Oxford, Edna Mitchell, and Dixie Knight.
Richard is very loved and will be very missed by us all. There will not be a public service or memorial. Donations can be made at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, MO.
