The St. Louis Cardinals took the lead in the bottom of the eighth during a 2-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Busch Stadium. The game was tied at one before Paul Goldschmidt hit a go-ahead double in the frame. Nolan Arenado also homered in the victory. JoJo Romero picked up his seventh win in relief, while Ryan Helsley earned his 44th save. The Cardinals are still six-and-a-half games behind the Mets for the final NL Wild Card spot at 73-and-72. Sonny Gray takes the mound for St. Louis against the Reds this afternoon.
