The Royals dropped their series opener in Minnesota. Kansas City lost to the Twins 6-5 in the first outing of a four-game set at Target Field. Dairon Blanco, Maikel Garcia, Vinnie Pasquantino and Hunter Renfroe each had an RBI in the setback. Starting pitcher Alec Marsh dropped to 4-and-2 after striking out seven and allowing five runs through seven innings of work. The Royals sit second in the AL Central at 34-and-21. They visit the Twins again tonight. Left-hander Cole Ragans will start opposite Minnesota righty Simeon Woods Richardson.
