Women’s Basketball Set to Face Bradley in Home Opener

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Women’s Basketball will face Bradley in its 2022-23 home opener at 7 p.m. on Thursday night in Mizzou Arena. The game will be broadcast on SECN+ and KTGR radio.

Missouri toppled Missouri State, 68-51 in the team’s first game on Monday. Senior forward Hayley Frank led the effort with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists. Frank earned Second-Team All-SEC Preseason honors last month.

With 10 points and 10 rebounds, junior guard Sara-Rose Smith notched her first career double-double in the victory.

Graduate transfer Katlyn Gilbert impressed in her Missouri debut with nine points and three assists.

Thursday will mark the 13th meeting between the two programs with Mizzou holding a 9-3 historical advantage.

Missouri is 41-7 in home openers all time, including a perfect 12-0 mark in the Robin Pingeton era.

The contest will be the first of the season for the Braves who defeated McKendree 71-60 in a preseason exhibition on Nov. 3.

Bradley finished its 2021-22 campaign at 4-24. The program is now guided by first-year head coach Kate Popovec-Goss who will be making her debut on the sidelines.

On the court, the Braves are headlined by sophomore Caroline Waite who led the team with 13.0 points per game as a freshman.
