On March 9, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office was notified a body had been discovered in a wooded area just south of West Plains on State Route 17. Investigators with the Howell County Sheriff’s Office and the West Plains Police Department recovered the remains and began an investigation.
On April 2, Howell County Coroner Tim Cherry received confirmation that the body was that of David Clark, 35, of West Plains. Investigators are currently awaiting the results from an anthropological examination that was conducted on the body.
