West Plains, MO – A Saturday night DWI crash sent a West Plains Woman to the hospital. The incident occurred at 9:40 p.m. on September 11, five miles west of Pomona on Highway P. A westbound 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Kelly Collins, 36 of West Plains, traveled off the right side of the road, striking a ditch and overturning. The vehicle was totaled.
Cpl. J. Cunningham investigated the crash and discovered that Collins was intoxicated. Kelly Collins was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Careless and Impudent Driving Involving an Accident, and No Insurance. Collins was cited and released to be transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains to receive treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.
